My Wish
Some
people want to be a rich man, be the king of the world, or be a most genius
person in the world, and the other is just want to live in peace. Me ? I just want to be a good man, with a good
live, and a good people around me.
My name is Fajar, I’m
eighteen years old now. Still live with my parents in a beautiful place that I
call, home. I’m in a college now, at first I choose the architecture, but my
father wanted me to go into IT (Information Technology). He said that IT
graduates have greater job opportunities at this time. Well, I hope it’s true.
Talk about job, it means talk about money. How much
money you can make, and how much money you spend to feed yourself, money,
money, money. When I was little, I don’t even think that all of this is about
money. How you get money to live, either is working, or just doing other
things. First I thought the same about job or profession such as hobbies, or
games. Doing things that you like all day long, I never know the purpose of it
is to get money.
When I was five years old, I wanted to be a pilot.
Travelling around the world with my own jet plane. But when I realize that I
fear of height, I decide to throw away my dream to be a pilot. When I tell this
to my father, he said, “too bad, actually
you can get a lot of money, and experience that much anyway.” And I was
speechless.
When I was ten years old, I wanted to be a doctor.
Healing the sick people, and helping people that I love. When I tell this to my
father, he said, ”it was very nice, very
noble. But we are not a rich family my boy, it seemed difficult to achieve. But
don’t ever give up my boy, if you’re trying to work hard, then you’ll
definitely get what you want my boy!” I smiled, but I’m confused.
Years passed. Experiences and lessons make me be
understand. One thing, I mean two, first, salary of a pilot was big enough, and
both can travel around the world for free. Second, to become a doctor, it takes
a very expensive funds. Now I’m understand father.
Money is very important, maybe even our lives it for
it. It can make you happy and you can get what you want, even your dreams will
come true ! But actually, the most
important is our ability, effort, passion, our prayers, and a thing of the
heart that can not be obtained with money, which is love. Why ? Because that’s
what make us able to live, to feel something, to differentiate us from other
creatures, and of course to get a money for live.
Now I’m sure with what I want, as I said from the
beginning, I wanted to be a good man, with a good live, and a good people
around me. One thing for sure, I should be succeed and not bother the other
people. Trying, praying, and patience. I know is not easy, but I will never
give up and I will definitely try, like my father told me. I wish it all come
true. Amen.
